Treating Mental Compulsions
ABOUT THS COURSE:
This course provides an overview of the assessment and treatment of mental compulsions in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This frequently overlooked facet of OCD is essential to understand and address in order to maximize the effectiveness of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Utilizing evidence-based strategies, this course will provide clinicians with tools to help their clients identify and disengage from mental compulsions that perpetuate the OCD cycle.

Participants will be able to define mental compulsions in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ben Eckstein, LCSW is the owner and director of Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He specializes in the treatment of OCD, Anxiety, and OC-Related Disorders. In addition to his clinical work, Ben is a trainer, speaker, and author of the book Worrying is Optional. He serves as vice president of OCD North Carolina, the NC state affiliate of the International OCD Foundation.
COURSE APPROVALS
Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center, provider #286, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 07/29/2025-07/29/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 clinical continuing education credits.

Course Completion & CE Information. To earn CE credit, participants must view the training in its entirety. Upon completion, participants will need to complete a post-test and course evaluation. Certificates of completion will be emailed upon completion of post-test and course evaluation.
