Intensive Treatment Program

Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center offers an intensive treatment program for individuals (16+) with anxiety and OCD who may need a bit more support than our typical once weekly treatment can offer. Each client will start with an initial evaluation, where we’ll work together to assess your needs and formulate a plan for treatment. This will include recommendations for duration and frequency of treatment, tailored for your goals in therapy. To learn more about our Intensive Treatment Program, please check out the FAQs below. If you have additional questions, you can contact our Intensive Treatment Program Manager, Erin Jones, LCMHC, at jones@bullcityanxiety.com.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • The Intensive Treatment Program is a good fit for anyone 16 or older who would benefit from additional support in treatment. This could be because you struggle to follow through with exposure assignments. It might be because your OCD is severe enough that you can’t quite make progress on your own. Maybe you’ve been considering residential treatment, but you’d like something less disruptive. Or maybe you have other problems - depression, ADHD, etc. - which interfere with treatment.

  • Our intensive treatment typically lasts anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks, though the duration may be longer or shorter depending on your needs. The length of treatment will always be discussed collaboratively with you.

  • Intensive treatment usually means having multiple sessions per week. This allows us to offer additional support, by practicing ERP in session and making more frequent adjustments as we go along. We often encourage family involvement, as it can be important to ensure that the people in your life know how to offer effective support.

  • Our intensive treatment program is a little bit different than our regular treatment — we use a treatment team approach. You’ll have a lead clinician, but will also work with other team members throughout the treatment process. This allows us to increase session frequency and fold in additional perspectives to your care.

  • After your initial assessment, we’ll work together to formulate a treatment plan. This will include an estimate for treatment, which will vary depending on the frequency of sessions, length of treatment, and varying rates for different clinicians. For a sense of our rates, you can see our “fees” page or reach out with any questions.

  • Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center is not contracted with insurance, but we can offer a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement. The best way to know what your insurance will cover is to inquire with them directly.

  • That’s up to you and your treatment team! Some people may feel that they’ve made enough progress to discontinue treatment entirely. Others may wish to “step down” by continuing treatment at a lower frequency. Mostly commonly, this would mean working with an individual therapist from your team on a weekly basis.

  • You can get started by completing our intake screener. Someone from our team will reach out to go over details, schedule an initial assessment, and get you on your way!
