Involving Families with Treatment

ABOUT THS COURSE:

This course delves into the the ways in which families can become stuck in unhelpful patterns of supporting their loved ones with OCD. Well-meaning efforts to help can unintentionally get wrapped up in the OCD cycle, creating a system of family accommodation that is imperative to address in OCD treatment. Higher rates of family accommodation are associated with increased OCD severity, impairment, and disruptions to family functioning. This course will give clinicians tools to integrate family members with OCD treatment, giving families tools to more effectively support their loved ones while dismantling the unhelpful patterns that interfere with recovery.
